Our curriculum goals are designed to provide students with a comprehensive and rigorous education that prepares them for success in the 21st century. Through a combination of academic rigor and real-world experiences, our curriculum fosters the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. We are committed to providing our students with the knowledge and skills they need to become responsible global citizens who contribute positively to their communities and the world.
We implemented a standardized curriculum framework and established a curriculum council. These are positive developments as they ensure that all students receive a consistent and high-quality education. By having a uniform set of guidelines, objectives, and instructional materials, students can benefit from a cohesive and structured learning experience.
We expanded STEM education through programs like the Invention Land program and the National Math & Science Initiative is essential in preparing students for the future job market. In today's rapidly changing world, STEM skills are becoming increasingly important, and providing students with hands-on, project-based learning opportunities can help them develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed for success. The implementation of a Math Intervention program is also important as it allows for early identification and support for struggling students, giving them the extra help they need to succeed.
Lastly, the approval of the Smithsonian Science Curriculum for elementary level students is a great way to strengthen problem-solving skills from a young age. By promoting inquiry-based learning and critical thinking, this program can help students develop the skills needed to succeed in all areas of life.
Here are some specific curriculum areas that we will be focused on enhancing with our administration team in our next term:
